The children's author David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.

The author

Prolific writer for children and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.

A spokesman for the firm stated: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the decision was made after an review of allegations of questionable actions involving women.

The company declined to specify the motivations for this action, noting: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies internationally in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.

His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works combined, including a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
