President Trump Invites Families of Attacked National Guard Personnel to White House

President Donald Trump revealed on Sunday that he has extended an invitation the loved ones of a Guard member tragically killed last week to visit the executive mansion.

He mentioned that he contacted her family and they were “devastated”.

Details on the Devastating Incident

Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was killed in a shooting on Wednesday in DC.

Her fellow service member, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, remains hospitalized in serious condition.

Vigils across West Virginia have occurred in their remembrance.

White House Invitation

The president explained he’s proposed a meeting at the presidential residence for the loved ones of both individuals of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a difficult moment, arrive at the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to Sarah,” Trump addressed reporters. “And likewise with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Response

Attendees came together over the weekend at a local school in West Virginia to honor Beckstrom.

Both the soldiers had been fulfilling duties with the state guard as part of Trump’s government program to assist law enforcement in DC.

Remembering the Soldier

“Sarah was the individual that teachers desired. She behaved with calm resilience, a warm expression and a optimistic attitude that inspired those around her,” Hankins, the head of Beckstrom’s previous school, informed the press. “She was kind, compassionate and always ready to help others.”

Memorial details for Sarah are yet to be finalized.

Legal Steps and Government Changes

Authorities have indicted a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder while armed.

The event caused the Trump administration to halt refugee claims and cease issuing visas to owners of travel documents.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

The airman, a resident of Martinsburg, began his service in 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman High, as reported by the AP.

He remains under medical supervision and is “in a critical fight”, the state’s leader Patrick Morrisey stated on television.

Attorney general the attorney general told a news show that she aimed to meet with the family.

Memory of Sarah Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County high school in 2023 and joined the military shortly after, serving as a MP with honor, as stated by the military.

“She had a lot of goodness and she absolutely had fortitude,” the governor told the audience at the vigil. “Though her life ended too soon, she has created a legacy that’s going to be remembered always.”
