Joseph Parker produced a positive sample in a drugs test conducted the very day he fought in 11th-round stoppage versus British heavyweight Ipswich-born Wardley.

Fabio Wardley together with the New Zealander engaged in an intense bout in London in late October to determine the next mandatory WBO contender to undisputed world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.
Parker had been the leading contender to challenge Oleksandr Usyk after putting together an impressive six consecutive victories, however risked his contender position on the line during the bout and endured an 11th-round stoppage.
Adverse Finding and Potential Consequences
An ordinary examination given to Parker by Vada the day of the match returned positive which leaves the veteran boxer with a battle to clear his name.
His promotion team published a communique stating: "Vada alerted all relevant parties regarding Joseph Parker returned an adverse finding after a doping test carried out on the fight day. While the matter is investigated, no further statements will be made currently."
